Oracle 10g Automated Shared Server Connection
To configure connection requests for
use_dedicated_server=ON using the Oracle Network Manager (netmgr)

Select the preferred way that you want
connection requests to be routed (shared or dedicated).
Choose File > Save Network Configuration.
This writes out the needed parameter to the sqlnet.ora file.
If you set use_dedicated_server to on in the
sqlnet.ora file, then existing (server=VALUE) entries in all connect
descriptors are overwritten with (server=DEDICATED).
If you want the client to use a dedicated
server whenever possible, you can specify (server=DEDICATED) in
place of (server=SHARED). When the server parameter is not set, the
server configuration defaults to SHARED. However, the client will
use a dedicated server if no dispatchers are available, as long as
the server is set to remain at its default value, or if you set it
