Oracle 10g Instantiating with Transportable Tablespace
As seen in this example, when you run the
import command, make sure you set the streams_instantiation import
parameter to Y. This parameter ensures that the import records
export SCN information for each object imported. Performing the
import automatically sets the instantiation SCN for all the imported
objects at the destination database.
Alter the tablespace to enable read and
write operations at both the source and destination databases.
Once the import completes, you can switch the tablespaces back
to read-write mode at the source and destination databases.
TABLESPACE sales READ WRITE;
Thus, the following new data dictionary
views enable you to determine which database objects have a set
instantiation SCN at the schema and global level:
Also, note that it is possible now to
recursively set the schema and global instantiation system
change numbers (SCNs). A new recursive parameter in the
set_schema_instantiation_scn and set_global_instantiation_scn
procedures enables you to set the instantiation SCN for a schema
or database, respectively, and for all of the database objects
in the schema or database.
