The values in PROVIDER_USERNAME are actually users inside the database.

Now comes the time to construct the view. This can be done as in the script below.

create view vw_claims_provider
as
    select * from claims
    where provider_id in (
        select provider_id
        from providers
        SEE CODE DEPOT FOR FULL SCRIPT
    )
/

Note how the user is authenticated using the function USER that returns the current user. By getting the PROVIDER_ID from the table or that user, we can get the claims for that provider. We used the IN operation, not equality, since a provider username may have listings for more than one provider, as in the case of a billing company working for several doctors.
