Chapter 6 Oracle Encryption

With this change in design, let's rewrite our routines. First, we have to modify the is_password_correct function to set the context attribute. Merely adding a line among the lines already there makes the change. The entire function is not being reproduced here.

-- set the role and the context
set_claim_app_ctx ('app_user_id', p_userid);
set_claim_app_ctx ('app_user_role', v_user_role);
set_claim_app_ctx ('input_vector',
    'some_string_that_can_be_set_here');
dbms_session.set_identifier (p_userid);

The added line is shown inside the box above.

The next step is to change the codes in the functions for encryption and decryption.

Encryption

Using the new variable input vector, we will rewrite the encryption routine described earlier.
