Chapter 8 General Oracle Auditing

The return code of the action – 0 if everything went smoothly. If an error occurs, the returncode is the Oracle error number. For instance, if the action is CREATE TABLE and the table already exists, the error is “ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object”, and the returncode in this view is set to 955.

This field records the system privilege used to conduct the action. For instance, a user may have CREATE ANY TABLE system privilege. If he creates a table in his own schema, the privilege used is CREATE TABLE; but if he used it to create a table in a different user’s schema, then the privilege CREATE ANY TABLE is used. This column records the exact privilege used.
