Updating Oracle Materialized
for replication are updated based either on a specific replication
schedule or on demand. A refresh interval is defined when the
materialized view is created on the remote site. Oracle automatically
creates a job to execute the refresh at the defined interval. To create
with a scheduled refresh, you would use the REFRESH FAST
syntax, as demonstrated in the next example:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW employees
REFRESH FAST NEXT sysdate + 1 AS
SELECT * FROM emp_user.employee@proddb;
This will cause an
called “employees” to be created. The Materialized View
will be fast-refreshed every day at roughly the same time.
