Hidden Fields

Hidden fields are page items which are not displayed when the page is rendered.  These fields still exist in the background and are able to hold a value.  There is no size limit to the value in a hidden item.  Frequent uses of hidden fields include holding temporary values, primary keys, and values that are passed to the page.  Any values set to the hidden field will be saved to the session state when the page is submitted.
