The above commands will create virtual disk files of 10 gigabytes each.

Step 2 - Using the losetup command, associate a loop (block) device with each of these files. Use man losetup to learn more about this command.  The losetup command has to be run as root

#losetup /dev/loop1 file_dsk1
#losetup /dev/loop2 file_dsk2
#losetup /dev/loop3 file_dsk3
#losetup /dev/loop4 file_dsk4
#losetup /dev/loop5 file_dsk5
#losetup /dev/loop6 file_dsk6
#losetup /dev/loop7 file_dsk7
#losetup /dev/loop8 file_dsk8

Step 3 Use the raw utility to bind a raw device to the newly created block devises from Step 2.    Use man raw to learn more about this command.

# raw /dev/raw/raw1 /dev/loop1
# raw /dev/raw/raw2 /dev/loop2
# raw /dev/raw/raw3 /dev/loop3
# raw /dev/raw/raw4 /dev/loop4
# raw /dev/raw/raw5 /dev/loop5
# raw /dev/raw/raw6 /dev/loop6
# raw /dev/raw/raw7 /dev/loop7
# raw /dev/raw/raw8 /dev/loop8
